Lauret Ballsun

President

Lauret Ballsun moved from California to the West of Market Kirkland area about 6 years ago and has recently founded LBC Pharmaceutical Professionals, LLC, a consulting company focused on providing services to the biopharmaceutical industry, specializing in pharmacovigilance (product safety).  Prior to consulting, Lauret worked at four different biopharmaceutical companies, including ICOS Corporation, Elan Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, and Syntex.  Lauret’s worked for 10 years as a critical care nurse specialist in newborn and pediatric intensive care units before starting to work for biopharmaceutical companies.  Lauret received a B.A. in psychology at the University of California at Berkeley, a BSN in nursing at San Diego State University.  

Lauret has three daughters, two of them recent graduates from the University at California and now working in Berkeley prior to pursuing their graduate education.  Lauret’s youngest daughter is now in 11th grade and spends most of her time dancing for the Lake Washington Dance Team when she is not in school.  Lauret became an avid enthusiast for the performing arts by her exposure to many artists associated with the work of her brother-in-law, Robert Friedman, who is an impresario in the world of dance, music, and drama.  Lauret is looking forward to being an active and devoted supporter of the performing arts through her KPC board membership.

Cindy Zech

Physical Therapist
Cindy is a 25 year resident of Kirkland, moving from Michigan after graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Physical Therapy.  While attaining a Masters in Education at Seattle University, she authored a book on health care for children.   Work experience includes both private practice and hospital based physical therapy and health care administration and management.   In addition to work experiences and the KPC board, volunteer commitments include chair of the Kirkland Park Board, and recent terms as treasurer for a home owners’ association.  Other appointments include Junior League of Seattle, the Washington State Physical Therapy Association, Holy Family School Commission for 3 years, and Chair of the Culture and Arts Task Force for the City of Kirkland.   Participation in the processes that strengthen our community remains an important goal.   In her spare time, Cindy has coached basketball and soccer teams over the past several years.  The Zechs have 3 children and a dog and enjoy golf, flying, skiing and water sports.

Kristin Olson

Kristin Olson grew up in Bellevue and has lived in Kirkland for 30 years. Kristin went to law school at the University of Washington, while raising 3 children, and graduated with honors in 1991. She joined the law firm in Bellevue after graduation and became a shareholder in 1999. Kristin practices in the areas of commercial and real eastate litigation.

Kristin has always been active in community affairs, especially the arts, and served on the board of trustees for ACT Theatre for 12 years. She is currently on the Advisory Board for that organization. Kristin has also been active in bar activites and was on the state bar Board of Govenors from 2003-2006. Kristin joined KPC board in 2008 and is excited about supporting the organization and its mission.

Career Counselor, Michael G. Foster School of Business MBA Program, University of Washington

Dodi is the principal of her own consulting practice specializing in leadership development and career coaching.  She also works part time at the UW Foster School of Business MBA Program as a Career Counselor.  Previously Dodi worked for 10 years at PACCAR, leaving in 2004 as their Director of Organizational Development. In that role, she was responsible for employee training and leadership development, executive education, performance management, and succession planning. Prior to moving to Seattle in 1993, she lived in San Diego, CA and worked in the retailing industry as a buyer and district manager and in Human Resources in the banking industry. 

Dodi’s other non-profit and volunteer involvements include the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC), Eastside Domestic Violence Program, and the Legacy Leadership Institute on the Environment.  Dodi lives in Kirkland with her husband.

Susan Raunig moved to Seattle from Montana shortly after college graduation and has acquired 20 years of business management experience with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business Operations and Office Administration.  After a 15-year tenure at Microsoft Corporation, she devotes her time to community service as a volunteer and board member and is a member of the Washington Women’s Foundation.  She is passionate about and is an advocate for organizations supporting the development of young girls, breast cancer research and the arts.  She recently completed a 4-year board term at Powerful Voices, a Seattle-based organization with a vision for all girls to grow into strong women.  Susan has a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from City University and a BS in Business Management with a minor in Marketing from Montana State University.  Outside interests include golf, travel, food, wine and the performing arts.  She lives in Kirkland with her husband and her dogs.

David Alskog

Partner, Livengood, Fitzgerald & Alskog

David Alskog was born in Tacoma and graduated from the University of Washington (B.A) and the University of San Francisco (J.D.).  He is a partner in the law firm of Livengood, Fitzgerald & Alskog practicing business law, litigation, real estate law and construction and design law.  He is a member of the King County, Washington State and American Bar Associations.  

 

David Feller

Corporate Vice President, Branch Manager, and Financial Consultant A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., a division of Wachovia Securities, LLC

David brings experience in finance, risk management, and personnel management together with an entrepreneurial spirit.  He serves on the Yarrow Point Planning Commission, serves as the Chair of the KPC Investment Committee, and actively coaches girls soccer.  He initially became involved with KPC while developing the first donor database for KPC in 1995.  He believes the arts play a vital role in the development of the youth in our community as well as the community as a whole.  He wants to ensure that KPC can continue to have a meaningful impact within the community for future generations.

G.G. Getz

Broker, Windermere Real Estate

Born in Iowa and a proud graduate of Iowa State University, G.G. Getz has had a broad and varied career.  She began her professional life as a 4-6rh grade teacher and then became a non-profit leader working with organizations in a variety of capacities  including Director of Volunteer Services for March of Dimes, Exec Director of Wa St United Cerebral Palsy, 1st Exec Director of “Make-A-Wish”of WA,  and Director of Pratt Fine Arts.

 

Currently working as a broker with Windermere Real Estate, GG is a leader in her field.  She has served as President of Eastside Council of “Seattle King Co Board of Realtors, ” and is among the 1% of  agents nationally with following advanced real estate degrees: Assoc Broker; CRS; GRI, ABR, ALHS 

 

In Kirkland, GG is a community leader and has served on the board of Kirkland Performance Center for seven years, most recently as President of the board of Directors.  GG is also a Kirkland Cultural Commissioner and has served on the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as a Vice President of Events.  She has been an active member of the Kirkland Rotarians serving as President in 2001.

Steven L. Gomes

Srivani Jade

Srivani is a 11-year resident of Kirkland, musician and Mom. Born and raised in Hyderabad (India), she moved to the United States in 1996 to pursue a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at Colorado State University. Since moving to the Seattle area, she has built a successful career in Engineering, supported multiple non-profits in the area of performing arts, specially traditional arts from the Indian sub-continent, and has recently started a second career as a singer of Indian classical and folk-inspired music.

Srivani served on the board of Pratidhwani (a local artist collective) in 2005, helped kick-start the first annual festival of South Asian Arts, “Utsav” in 2006 and was founding editor of Ragavani Journal of Indian music and dance (a Ragamala initiative) in 2007. Srivani now enjoys a busy and growing career as a performer and teacher. She has released two albums of Indian music, recorded theme vocals for films, and currently serves as artist-in-residence at Jack Straw Productions, Seattle. Connecting communities through art continues to be a goal and a passion. As a member of the board of KPC and as a performer, she strives to realize this goal.

Ben Lee

David Mangone

David Mangone is a Creative Strategist and Executive Producer/Writer/Director.  He and his partners at Wattsmedia develop, design, and produce integrated digital media,  corporate videos, sales and marketing presentations, business meetings, network commercials, branded entertainment, websites, international road shows, convention displays and visitor centers.  His work includes major projects for international Fortune 100 companies, ad agencies and PR firms, as well as small projects for non profits and community service organizations.

 

David graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California and began his career as Director of Media Communications at Carnation Company, which was ultimately acquired by Nestle.  He then subsequently founded a production company based in Santa Monica, CA and led it for over 20 years before taking a sabbatical to earn an MBA at Pepperdine University. He and his wife Linda moved to the Pacific Northwest from Los Angeles in 2005 and settled on Kirkland as their new home.  David is also on the marketing committee for PACE and the Board of Directors of the Ojai Playwrights Conference.

Doreen Marchione

Former Executive Director, Hopelink 

Doreen Marchione was the President and CEO of Hopelink from1992 through 2006.  She is known as being a risk-taker and visionary leader with expertise in expanding programs, leading organizations through transitions, and in managing complex entities.  Doreen currently is the chair-elect of the Board of the Kirkland Performance Center.  She is a member f the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board and is also on the Steering Committee of the Sound Families Initiative of the Gates Foundation. She has served on the boards of United Way of King County, Leadership Eastside, and Executive Alliance.  Prior to joining Hopelink, Doreen served from 1984-1991 as the mayor of Redmond.  She is a graduate of Seattle University, where she serves on the Leadership Council for the College of Arts and Sciences

Gary Reilly

Senior Vice President of Engineering LOUD Technologies

Gary Reilly is the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Loud Technologies. LOUD produces a wide range of digital recording products, loudspeakers, commercial audio systems, audio and music software and instrument amplifiers. Prior to joining LOUD in August, 2006, he was Sr. Director of Product Development at Qualcomm, developing innovative digital wireless communications products and services. Earlier in his career he designed sound reinforcement systems and then toured with these systems, mixing sound. He holds a BS, Electrical Engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology. Gary and his wife Peggy Sue live in Kirkland, Washington and have 3 children.
